P.: Bob, I hate to break the news, but our sales were down again last month.
B.: Down again, Peter?
P.: Yeah. These days everybody’s shopping at our competition, Honest Abe’s Store.
B.: But everything in there costs an arm and a leg!
P.: Yes, they do charge top dollar.
B.: And their salespeople are very strange. They really give me the creeps.
P.: But meanwhile we are about to go belly-up.
B.: Sorry to hear that. I thought my new advertising company would save the day.
P.: Let’s face it – your ad company was a real flop.
B.: well, then I’ll go back to the drawing board.
P.: It’s too late, Bob. You’re fired.
B.: Whet? You’re giving me the ax?
P.: Yes. I’ve already found a new manager. She’s as sharp as a tack.
B.: Can’t we even talk this over? After all I’ve been working here for 10 years.
P.: There’s no point in arguing here, Bob. I’ve already made up my mind.
B.: Oh, well, at least, I won’t have to put up with your nonsense anymore. Goodbye to you and this dead-end job!
P.: Please leave before I lose my temper!
Peter told Bob that he hated to break the news but their sales had been down again the previous month. Bob asked Peter if they really had been down again. Peter agreed and told him that those days everybody was shopping at their competition Honest Abes Store. Bob told him that everything in there cost an arm and a leg. Peter agreed and said that they really charged top dollar. Bob told him that their salespeople were very strange and they gave him the creeps. Peter told him that meanwhile they were about to belly-up. Bob told Peter that he was sorry to hear that and he had thought that his new advertising company would have saved the day. Peter suggested to face it and told him that Bob and his company had been a real flop. Bob told him that he would go back to the drawning board. Peter replied that it was too late and Bob was fired. Bob didnt believe him and asked Peter if he was giving him the ax. Peter agreed and told him that he had already found a new manager and she was sharp as a tack. Bob asked Peter if they could talk it over because after all he had been working there for 10 years. Peter told him that there was no point in arguing there and he had already made up his mind. Bob answered that at least he wouldnt have to put up with Peters nonsense anymore and said goodbye to him and that dead-end job. Peter asked Bob to leave before he lost his temper.
