Last summerSandu decided tospend his vacationat his cousin’s wholives in the North ofMoldova. It was at thebeginning of July whenhe left for the village ofSofia. The weather wasfantastic and the surroundings were full of greenery.The beauty of the countryside impressed him verymuch. When meeting his cousin Lucia at the railwaystation, he was surprised by her change. It was twoyears ago when he saw her last. Instead of a short,clumsy child, now there was a different person in frontof him: a tall, graceful young girl. He couldn’t helpnoticing her big blue eyes with long, thick eyelashesand dark eyebrows. Most of all, he liked her long, wavyhair that shone in the sun. She was the sort of personwho seemed to attract everybody, especially when shesmiled.His aunt’s house wasn’t far from the station, soit didn’t take them long to get there. When they approachedthe house, his aunt greeted him. Sanduwas happy to see her.He stayed at his auntMaria’s for two weeks.He had a good opportunityto learn a lot ofthings about life on thefarm and make newfriends.
