Why a scientific career is attractive/not attractive to me.
Oneday everyone has to choose a career. In my opinion, this is one of the seminalmoments in life because it will influence your future significantly. Let ustake a closer look and further investigate what are advantages and disadvantagesof a scientific career.
Onthe one hand, this activity is very exciting. You communicate with thecleverest people of your time, attend conferences and read to a lot to keep upwith the time. Your brain works all the time trying to solve all the mysteriesand riddles of the nature and the world. And one day you will probably make adiscovery that will improve people’s lives or cure cancer.
Onthe other hand, being a scientist can’t be so exciting. For example, it can be boring.Imagine a small laboratory with a lot of dull and boring people who don’t liketheir job and don’t invent and discover anything. Or this work can be dangerous.Scientists often work with poisonous substances and as a result of an accidentthey may suffer.
Tosum up, I suppose that many things have to be taken into account. There arepros and cons and I think that if am offered a scientific career, I willconsider this particular case very thoroughly and only then I will make mydecision.
